In fact many Cameroonian football fans are divided about his personality and his tendency to voice complaints publicly.

His standoff with Cameroon football icon and FA president , Samuel Eto’o, hasn’t helped either.

Is he justified in his grievances, or should he focus solely on the game?”

Whatever you think about Brys’ approach, there’s no debate about the turnaround the Belgian has masterminded since becoming manager of Cameroon.

The indomitable Lions remain UNDEFEATED since the arrival of the Belgian coach almost 8 months ago!

In this piece, we’d attempt to take a deep dive into how different the team is under Marc Brys in comparison to Rigobert Song.

So let’s look at the how the numbers stack up against Cameroon’s former manager and emblematic captain Rigobert Song:

Marc Brys’ Lions have a win percentage of 62.5 %.

His all time record as coach of Indomitable lions now reads W5 D3 L0.

In the 8 competitive games before Brys took over, Cameroon recorded 3wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats making for a paltry 37,5 % win rate.

In attack,the stats are exactly the same with respect to the number of goals scored:

In an attacking sense, Rigobert Song’s team was taking more shots at goal with 94 Shots in his last 8 games (11.8 per game) compared to Brys’ team who are averaging 10.4 shots per game (83 shots in 8 games).

But their efficiency has improved though, with the current team having 33% of their shots on target as opposed to 28% under Rigobert Song.

The possession Stats are also better under Brys, with the lions having an average possession of 60.5% against 58,3% in the competitive games before Brys.
