At 17, Mathis Amougou signs his first professional contract with his training club, AS Saint-Étienne.
Having become a Stéphanois in 2018 while playing under the colors of US Torcy, the Cameroonian nugget joined the Robert-Herbin Sports Center in the summer of 2021 after following the prestigious training course of the INF Clairefontaine.
So it didn’t take long to see it confirmed.
“His excellent state of mind and many qualities quickly made him an essential player in the Green Generation, “communicated ASSE.
Mathis Amougou has signed with the Ligue 2 club until 2025. A dream comes true for the talent:
“ I am delighted to achieve this dream which has gradually become my goal. I am proud to sign this first professional contract with ASSE, my training club. The hardest part is yet to come; I hope the best too ”.
Mathis Amougou initially spent time on the lawns of U17 National. Still, he quickly made the giant leap to the reserve, resident of National 3, after playing only a handful of matches in U19 National.
In the fall of 2022, when he was only 16, the midfielder took advantage of the reception of Vaulx-en-Velin to make his first appearance in N3. Since then, he has participated in 8 games, scoring his first goal last weekend during Saint-Etienne’s success against Chambéry (4-1).
