Cameroonian Shot Stopper Andre Onana was involved in a fight with Inter teammate Marcelo Brozovic during a training session on Monday.
The two players faced off after Onana put in a late challenge during a training routine, causing Brozovic to react angrily by kicking a towel toward the former Ajax man. The two men had to be separated by teammates, with Romelu Lukaku taking a leading role in calming down the fracas.
Although training ground spats are common in football, Inter fans will hope the incident doesn’t affect preparations for their big Champions League return-leg game against Benfica on Wednesday. Inter takes a 2-goal advantage to the San Siro after overcoming the Portuguese league leaders 2-0 in the first leg last week in Lisbon.
If the Nerazzuri wins the tie, it will be the first time two Italian Teams appear in the last four of a European competition in over two decades. Eternal rivals AC Milan have already booked their Semi-final ticket after outsmarting runaway Seria A leaders Napoli.
Onana has enjoyed an excellent season at Inter, putting up a string of brilliant performances for the Italians to keep them in contention for European football next season. Inter are just 90 minutes from a Champions League Semi-final appearance, their first since the treble-winning season under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
