Former Wolverhampton left-back George Elokobi has been appointed manager of Maidstone United after calling time to his playing career a few months ago.

Thirty-seven-year-old Elokobi had been managing the team as Interim manager following a string of poor results, which led to the sacking of Heyrettin Hakan. Elokobi takes over Maidstone United, who are rock bottom of the fifth tier of English football without a win in eleven games.
With relegation all but confirmed for the southeast club, Elokobi’s primary job will be to oversee a swift return to the national league.
He signs a one-year contract with just six games remaining of the current season. The Cameroonian confirmed His appointment via a tweeter post on the 27th of March, 2023.
The ex-Wolves man ended His playing career with a 4-year stint at Maidstone United after spells with Bristol City, Oldham, and Colchester, among others.
Maidstone United’s next game is against 7-placed Boreham Wood on the 1st of April, 2023.
