FECAFOOT's Kit Debacle Has Exposed Its Incompetence Again, and Samuel Eto’o is to Blame!

The president of Cameroon's Football Federation has once again fumbled the ball when it comes to securing a reputable kit supplier for our national team, perhaps just like his predecessor and maybe in a more spectacular fashion.

FECAFOOT's Kit Debacle Has Exposed Its Incompetence Again, and Samuel Eto’o is to Blame!

After the debacle with the last French Sports equipment giants, le coq sportif, where we were told of the kit supplier’s failure fulfill their contractual commitments, one would have expected the federation leadership to prioritize finding a reliable sportswear partner.

Samuel Eto’o while announcing the partnership with One All sports in August 2022, stated that the partnership represented the largest and most lucrative deal ever agreed by Cameroon.

There was also the now infamous promise of a VIP Bus for the National Football team. A promise which has never seen the light of the day.

Alas, it seems old habits die hard.

Some football stake holders have accused the FECAFOOT President of being more interested on political maneuvering and backroom dealings rather than actually delivering a kit supplier that our players and fans can be proud of.

The president's decision to settle with a rather obscure, kit supplier with no previous experience in working with a top football nation was a measure blunder.

Top national teams are sponsored by globally respected sportswear giants, whose cutting-edge technology and design not only elevate the team's performance, but also their standing and brand value on the world stage.

By failing to partner with such a reputable supplier, the president is actively damaging the reputation and marketability of our national team.

Unless the president can quickly rectify this situation, our team's on-field performance and the federation's public image will continue to suffer.

This failure to professionally manage a basic operational requirement is symptomatic of the larger dysfunction plaguing the federation, something which was endemic under previous administrations.

And the dream of giving back our football all its greatest will only remain a dream, and nothing more

The fans have waited far too long for basic professionalism and accountability from this federation, and the coming of a man whom many consider The Greatest African Footballer of All Time was mooted as the dawn of a new era, but those hopes have taken a major hit once again.

Cameroon football deserves better leadership and representation on the world stage.

President Samuel Eto’o Fils, please fix this!
